Late Monday morning! We were bummed, we missed the actual emergence. :( It happened very quickly, though, because we were keeping an eye on things!
If you are a Biologist (OR you are like me and look things up on Wikipedia), you will have noticed by now that it turns out Albert was actually Alberta! :) She took to Jason...he had a hard time getting her to leave his arm. But eventually she did. She surprised us, though, when we were outside Tuesday and she flew right up to us as if she were saying "hello"!! But since Tuesday, we haven't seen her again. We enjoyed our time with Alberta. We found her for the kids, but she thrilled all of us with her amazing transformation.

These photos are breathtaking, Keri. I've never seen anything quite like this. A thousand thank-you's for posting them.

Thank you for sharing this Keri. It is too bad you didn't catch the actual emergence! My kids watched the entire 8 minutes of your earlier video! They'll be excited to see these pictures tomorrow.
Did you know that White River Gardens next to the zoo has butterflies every summer and they have all the chrysalises in a box where you can watch butterflies emerge? It's really cool and you get to see all the different types.
This is so awesome!
I scrolled through your blog and found the other posts about Alberta. What a cool experience for your family!

What a beautiful process! And what a reminder of our Creator!
