Invisible Children

Earlier today I thought "I bet people are tired of me going on and on about Africa and FCI and children on the blog. Maybe I should take a break from it for a while...what if people stop LIKING ME?!" Really? I can't keep quiet. I can't see what I've seen and NOT spread the word. Even if just ONE person takes something away from this blog that stirs a talent or creative idea in their being that saves ONE CHILD then it's worth people "not liking me". It's not about ME. It's not about being "liked". It's not about followers. It's about these people. These precious people who have been created in God's image, just like me and you. I can't sit in my comfy recliner with my A/C blowing my clean hair while my children sleep safely and soundly in comfortable cushy beds with their fans and music going and say NOTHING.

After watching this video, suddenly all my "worries" for my children are foolish, ridiculous, selfish, asinine. I worry they might get a cold, a stomach bug, what if they're picked on in school? Do I send them to Public School? What if it's HARD on them? SERIOUSLY?!?! THEY GET TO GO TO SCHOOL!!! My children don't have to run away at night to sleep on verandas of hospitals or bus stations because they fear abduction by men who will force them to kill or be killed. The imbalance is horrifying...the imbalance of my blessings with their need...Lord, please show me what to do. Everything I have is Yours.

Thanks for sharing that vid. To live life in constant fear, to have seen so many bad things happen, to not be able to cry........I don't know what to say.

You are a very special person. It puts our own minor hardships into a new perspective.

Honestly Keri, if someone doesn't "like" you anymore over something that is so important to you, then they don't even deserve to be your friend, online or otherwise. Don't ever stop being you!

Keri, I have so thought the same thing when I talk on and on about Russia. But Christians are not supposed to keep everyone comfortable. And I really do enjoy hearing about your upcoming trip!!!
