New Wheels

The front tire on Mackinley's three-wheel bike cracked last week. He had that bike since he was 2 and it trekked countless miles. I have no idea how many times this summer we went on our 3 mile journey, Mackinley on that bike the whole way. When the tire split, he didn't cry...he didn't mope...he just didn't want anything to do with it any more. His little blue eyes caught on Kaeleigh's old two-wheeled bike and he wanted to try it out. He did a great job! But seeing how it is pink and has Barbies all over it, we thought maybe he should have his own. So I put a shout-out on Facebook and within minutes I had a response from one of my friends who had a boy's bike she would let me have for $15!! And...it's even GREEN, his favorite color!

We surprised him with it and he was ecstatic!!!

That was some of the best $15 we've ever spent. He's been loving it...and so have we! He can even ride it while we jog...which is something he couldn't do on the three-wheeler because he couldn't keep up. And tonight, Mackinley, Piper and I went on a bike ride together. It's wonderful!
