For Kathy T!!

Kathy asked that I get a picture of the lamp with the lights off. So here you go!! You should have seen me on my very tip-toes trying to get the right angle and close enough...all while my TALL husband sat on the couch watching me and telling me to hurry so he didn't miss the Tigers at bat.

My Latest eBay Find

I'm an eBayholic. I literally have to make myself stay away from the site unless there is something we NEED and I want to find a good deal. Ok, so this isn't exactly a NEED...but...I "wanted" something for the top of our new entertainment center. The thing is huge and it's the focal point of the room and it just seemed so empty and boring. My plan is to get some pictures of us framed and placed around this room, I like to have pictures around where we hang out, it makes it feel more like home...and there will be some added to the top of the entertainment center. But I knew other than the pictures, I wanted something else. I didn't know what, but I knew I would know it when I saw it. So where to go? eBay, of course!!! WOOHOO an excuse to start some searching.

Then I saw it. This Tiffany lamp. It was unlike any Tiffany lamp I've ever seen!!! I had to have it. Yes, I said "had to". So, I put it on watch because it still had several days to go for the auction to end. After spending those days just staring at this lamp that I "had to" have, the auction was finally starting to come to a close. In the last 10 minutes, I started bidding. Some dude thought he was going to take it from me...but HAHA no way, Jose. Fifteen seconds...oh it's mine....ten...that's right, baby, all mine...five...WHAT?? I've been outbid?? NO WAY!!! So I frantically click on "place higher bid" but alas, I have lost. I felt so deflated. My beautiful Tiffany lamp of which I've never seen another, GONE. I guess that's what I get for trash-talking Jose.

The next morning, I'm very pouty while browsing eBay. Then low and behold...ANOTHER lamp exactly like the one I lost to Jose!!!! WOOHOO!! Long story short, I actually WON this one!!! After another bidding war, of course, but I wasn't about to lose again! I was so thrilled. Never mind that every day since then, I've noticed that this particular store releases ONE of these lamps every so often so that you THINK it's the only one when actually they seem to have an endless supply. But I don't care! I love my new lamp and I think it's the perfect addition to our new living space...what do you think?!?!

As a side thought...why in the world can't I find something like this that people will fight over on eBay but yet I have an endless supply therefore creating an endless cash flow right into MY PayPal account???

Animal Train

Mom...this one's for you. Mackinley LOVES the animal train you gave him for Christmas. I think it must have been a bit advanced for his age until now because he really never paid attention to it much. But NOW he drags it along, and he likes to take it apart and put it back together. Today he cracked me up because he had the giraffe and only the top of the elephant and he was giggling with delight at how funny it looked just hanging there as he pulled it along. Wish I could have captured it on video.

In this one, look at his little mouth. He's saying "Oooooooooo!!!"

Yes, I live my life with bedhead and t-shirts with sweats. It's what I've come to expect and accept. LOL

Sandy Sunday

These two love each other so much. It's so sweet and awesome how they are by each other's sides whenever Kaeleigh is with us. We love it!!!

Mackinley decided he did NOT like to eat sand. Kaeleigh decided she did NOT like Brudder throwing sand in her hair. Momma decided she DID like how the sandbox kept the toddlers very entertained for quite some time...even in a drizzle!

Rainy Monday

Monday was very rainy and stormy!! We spent the day in our jammies, watching movies, eating, and just being together as a family. Not the worst way to spend a rainy Monday. =)

Look how dark it was at lunch time!! Jason took these two pictures of the kids just as big thunder was rolling.

Funny Hubby

Check out Jason's umbrella! It's the umbrella that goes with the sandbox! LOL!! He cracked me up checking the mail with that huge thing.

New Front Door!!

Jason and his friend Brent tore the old door out and got the new door set Saturday morning.

I of course made Mackinley do the swiffering of the dust and debris after the guys were done.

Jason and I finished up installing the door, as well as installed the new screen door Sunday. We're finally DONE after putting the trim on today.

You can see the caulk drying...we'll be painting all the trim soon to cover up our little dings and pings.

The new screen door. =)

Up Close & Personal

This first batch of posts were all taken the same morning. While doing our home improvements, we've been trying really hard not to leave MJ out and we tried to set time aside each day to spend with him. He's growing up so fast, he's not a baby anymore, and we're trying to cherish every single minute we have with him as he grows. These close-up pictures he actually took himself...he just kept pushing the button and I loved how they turned out!!

Reading with Momma

(Please ignore my bedhead. LOL) I think these pics are pretty self-explanatory. MJ loves to be read to and he likes to point at the pictures and it even sounds sometimes like he's telling his own little story. He's such a joy.
