I love Clorox Wipes. These are NOT Clorox Wipes. I have been trying to be very frugal lately and I decided to try the cheap brand. There's a reason they're cheap. First of all, they don't smell nice. Second, they don't clean worth a darn. Clorox Wipes are more moist, and have a nice texture to them that helps you scrub. These wierdos might "KILL GERMS!" as they claim, I have no way of testing that, but they do NOT hold up to Clorox! Don't waste your money like I did!
My second random thought. I love Jon & Kate Plus 8. I DVR it and never miss an episode. I read their website periodically. I love that they aren't afraid to talk about their faith in Jesus....even while on Oprah!!! I love that they love their kids. I love that they slip up from time to time and sometimes sound harsh with each other...don't we all?! I don't know about anyone else, but it makes me feel like less of a failure to know that I'm not the only human left on the planet. :)
But the last few episodes have been annoying me. They are about to head off on a trip to Hawaii...with a nice long lay over in San Diego (long enough to take the 8 kids to an amusement park). Didn't they JUST get back from a 2 week vacation in North Carolina?? We have not been on ONE vacation as a family and they're about to embarque on their 50th. Ok, I'm exaggerating a tad but I mean, seriously!! Skiing in Utah, 2 weeks in North Carolina, Disney World, Hawaii, Florida and I'm sure I'm forgetting some. They say they realize these are huge blessings. I really hope they do. These are not trips that only families with 8 kids can't afford to do all the time, these are trips that MOST families can't afford to do...EVER! I know that this is probably just jealousy talking. I would like just ONE of these trips they've been blessed with!!
I'm also a little annoyed that their show is turning in to one big commercial. Companies give them free stuff (mostly toys it seems) so they will endorse them on the air. And it's OBVIOUS that's what's going on. I still love them, though, and will continue to watch the show. I just wanted to vent a bit about my annoyances. :)

Well, you aren't alone in your jealousy. I don't watch the show 'cuz of a minor detail of not having cable but I HAVE seen it a couple times in other homes. I'm jealous too. Any family trips we take include our truck and trailer. And I'm very thankful for them because without them, it'd be tents! I can't even THINK about locations like HAWAII! Must be nice!
*Note to self: Must have more kids and aquire sponsers who will pay for extravagant vacations, toys, homes and vans for us.**
I only catch the show every so often, the thing I like is that they are real people. Kate makes me look like a nice mommmy :P (of course if I had that many kids I would be like the old woman who lived in the shoe. . .)
On the fake Clorox wipes. I hear ya sister, been there done that now I spend the extra bucks to get the real thing!
We watch it from time to time.
Here's a theory....you enjoy Jon & Kate...and The Office so much because of the very similar expressions Jon and Jim throw out to the world....sure, there's more to both programs than that....but those are things I can hardly get enough of.....peace
Keri I know what you mean about the fustrations. I found out that they dont spend their OWN money on the kids and they say why should they. They have a wealthy family member that helped out when Jon lost his job. I heard a rumor on it.
I can imagine over the last few years they are millionaires now and can afford the lifestyle. But there is a point that they need to leave the "sham" of being stress and no money behind and just live their life normal. I googled some of this and there are alot of people with same frustrations.
You're right, Heather!! I think if they would stop making comments like "we can't afford normal outings that other families can" or "like we have the money for that" I might not be so annoyed about it. I also know that their new house is REALLY going to annoy me. LOL

I hear you on the Jon and kate Plus 8 Vacays! I feel the same. Our one and only vacation was to see you and the Family this summer. And that was a BIG THING!! I get fustrated while watching the show sometimes.
With ya sister! I don't enjoy the show as i first did because I get tired of having their "blessings" thrown in my face. Because face it without a TV show they would not be taking these vacations. My family vacations are weekend long outings within the state of Indiana!!! And Kate is grumpy and I feel she is a little mean to Jon. Now the Duggers on 17 plus counting, they are kinda interesting. Either way I would be in a straight jacket with that many kids!!!

We did just take a vacation, but saved like crazy before we went, and prob won't go again for a loooong time. sigh.
I'm sure I'm just jealous also, but I wish they would be more "real". Does Jon even have a job anymore?
And yes, let's not forget their new house!

Ok, totally feel your pain on the off brand wipes...tried them myself once and I shant do it again!
Secondly, I used to openly rag on Kate for being so short with Jon all the time...well now that I'm a SAHM I TOTALLY take it all back. The other night I watched a re-run and she said being a stay at home Mom was hard, lonely and depressing at times...can I get an AMEN. Totally restored my faith in the show. BUT I also agree with you whole heartedly on the vacations and such. Maybe the toy companies should send toys to random households and let us normal Moms feel gifted for once too. Just a thought :)
Love Jon and Kate+8 - I think some of the "vacations" are actually speaking engagments. Pretty sure Jon still works, he just gets home in the early afternoon. ??
I don't watch it as it irritates me. I'm sure they are getting a chunk of change from TLC (or whatever channel they are on). Seriously with 8 kids how do you go on vacation like they do, only one of you work and you have the means to remodel your house and buy all new furniture for the kiddies? Please. When your kid gets a 25 year old bed (with a much newer mattress lol) then come whine to me about being broke lol
