We've had an unusually snowy winter this year, for Indiana. We're not exactly sure how much we have on the ground right now, but the airport that is 20 miles from here has 13". We are LOVING IT. We love snow. :)
We had a few more inches fall this morning. Now the temps are dropping...our lows will be below zero for the next few days. This evening, I noticed these weird pock-marks all over our fresh blanket of snow. I asked Jason what he thought caused it and he said maybe the snow falling out of the trees. BUT...these marks are everywhere...even where there are no trees or anything else that would drop snow pellets.
So...MOMMY...you are the only person I know that could possibly answer this question for us! What are the pock-marks??

Did the snow that fell this morning consist of those large "clump" flakes??? Did it only last a short time???
This looks to me like the pattern left by a short snow of large clumpy flakes. If that isn't it - - - then I don't know.
We are having subzero temps today - - - but by the weekend it is supposed to nearly reach 40* - - - which I HATE.
They were big fluffy flakes. I don't know what you call a "short time", though, because it snowed for a few hours like that.
Maybe the way the wind blew across the snow as it landed?
It was the big fluffy flakes - - - it did it here the other day and I watched.
