Mackinley woke up this morning and was soaked...all the way to his toes! This happens a lot...why can't they make diapers absorbent enough to last through the night?? So, we get up, get him cleaned and dressed for the day. Jason is at an appointment, so it's just me and the little guy. He has his breakfast and is happy playing on the floor. So I decide to check blogs and do my daily internet browsing routine. This is when it starts. He immediately crawls over to the TV and turns around and looks at me with a big grin on his face. I said "No...come back out here, please, Buddy". He grins again and starts pulling things off the shelf. So I go over and tell him "NO". He grabs a tape from our camcorder and drops it on the floor, looks up at me and says "Uh uhh" (this is "Uh Oh" in Mackinley language). This tickles my funny bone and makes me laugh. So then HE laughs. I pick him up, bring him back to his toys. He seems occupied enough, so I go back to my blog world. He immediately heads RIGHT BACK to the TV and the same thing happens all over again, including the tape on the floor followed by the "Uh uhh". This time after being reset, he decides to go behind the rocker...which is ANOTHER no-no because there is an outlet there and I don't want him getting electricuted! I ask him to please come out of there. He peeks around the corner at me with his HUGE grin and then ducks back behind, giggling exuberantly. How am I supposed to be serious Mommy with THAT going on??? So I dig him out and get him set up with his walker. That surely will keep him occupied long enough for me to finish this comment on Mom's blog! WRONG. As soon as I sit back down and get the laptop on my lap, he is full speed ahead going behind the recliner this time. Yet ANOTHER no-no because there are ALL SORTS of things for him to get into back there! So I put the laptop down, go to get him and he again starts laughing hysterically.
At this point I realize something. He wants ME. He wants my attention. So I decide to play with him on the floor. He starts fussing and squirming and wants me to hold him. So I hold him. He starts fussing and squirming again. Thumb goes in the mouth, and he's just restless. So I think ok, he's been up for 2 hours...maybe he's ready for his morning nap. I started typing this blog right after I put him down. He's in there still talking right now.
I really don't know what the point of this blog is, other than the fact that I don't have Jason here to talk to and laugh with about it, so I thought I'd just type it out for the world to see. Now I guess I'll go clean up the kitchen while the little guy is "napping".

LOVED the post, Keri. I can just visualize all of that going on!!! How could you NOT laugh. What a sweetie he is. Now I know why the excess "Keri" comments on your mom's blog!!! Ha!!
Too cute and too funny - - - - - I'm telling ya, he's his Uncle Kelly made over - - - WATCH OUT!!!!!! You know what kinds of pranks THAT will mean.
Funny you should mention the outlet. Daniel and I had one of those days today. We were by ourselves until 5pm. He's learned to climb onto the kitchen table, dining room table, couch, coffee, table, large rocking chair... he's a climber! So after most of these temptations were removed, he went back to one of his favorites - the outlet. I removed him and sent him over to play with Rachel while I got the pictures ready for my blog. Soon he starts screaming, and Rachel said nothing happened. It didn't take too long to figure out that he had been playing with the outlet in the next room - he had the lamp half way unplugged. Praise the Lord that he wasn't permanently injured! Maybe that will be enough to keep him away.
Sounds like he could use another sibling. :)
My kids never did that kind of stuff. :) hahaha
We bought Huggies Overnights (I think that's what they are called), and they actually did make a difference with Elisha wetting through. More expensive, but worth not having to change the bed every day. :)
I've looked for Huggies Overnights and haven't found anything but pull-ups!! Where did you find them???
It let me post ONE comment on Char's blog as "other" then it wouldn't let me post any more. Will it let me 'sneak' this one comment onto your blog today???
Yippppeeeee ONE COMMENT!!!
It's so easy to make Keetha happy.
OK - - - - I just managed to get a bunch of comments on as "other"
Now, here's the BIG test - - - - I'm going to TRY to post as the real me and see what happens.
Hmmmmmm - - - - I DID try - - - - - it rejected the real me. Now I feel like a reject.
Never fear - - - - I shall now try going back to "other" and see if I'm accepted that way.
