MJ's First Stitches

Mackinley got his first stitches today! He was running and tripped and fell and hit his head on the corner of a wall. He did really well...he just got VERY angry when they had to pin him down. He's fine, he's playing and laughing and completely back to normal, other than the 2 stitches in his head!

Looks like hes handling it like a champ. Our turn is probably just around the corner...Abbie has figured out if she moves stuff she can get over the baby gate.

Well, since the stitches are still IN his head - - - he's at least THAT FAR ahead of his Uncle Kyle!!!!

You must have been terrified. Glad Macky took it so well.

Bah! Rub some dirt on it and tell him to suck it up. A good scar on the head would give him character. Just look what it did for Harry Potter! ;)

I hit my head plenty of times when I was a kid. Other than being cross eyed, only completing the 5th grade and a pronounced stutter, I am fine.

Ooohhh, I remember taking Eric several times for stitches. It's no fun and head wounds tend to bleed so much making it appear much worse than it really is. Doctors/nurses had to reassure me that he wasn't bleeding to death! Give the little man a hug for me.

Dear Anonymous,

Sounds like the down home advice my grandmother used to give. I for one am glad for modern cures, though.

And as for learning difficulties, I can't even blame hitting my head! I think mine are genetic.

You've got a good attitude, though.

How's he doing, Keri? When does he get the stitches out?

He's doing great! He only remembers it's there when he looks in the mirror...then he gets a little frown and touches it.

His stitches come out Thursday!
