Our Pretty Tree

This tree is in our front yard and it's so pretty every Spring! I don't know what kind it is...I'm sure Mom or Char or Grammy or someone can tell me. =)

I love the purple! It's beautiful!

I always have to ask my Mum what the various plants growing in my yard are. I haven't even begun to search our new backyard for plants and critters!

Happy Spring!

It's a Redbud.

I love those too - - - but dad doesn't like them because they "volunteer" new little trees all over your yard.

We had one at the end of our driveway on Elm Drive, Keri, while you were growing up!!!

I've had one ever since moving into this house, and it has never "volunteered" any. In fact, I wish it would have because I had one die and had to go buy a replacement a few years after we moved in. I love it! We've also got an ornamental cherry that is beautiful this time of year.

Wow Donny!!! They will grow (vegetative propagation) new shoots right up from the roots. Maybe you mow your yard so often you never see the new shoots coming up. Sometimes when we went on vacation, if no one mowed the yard, Greg would have trouble "mowing" the new shoots down - - - they were TOUGH little buggars.

Thanks, Mom!

We would LOVE to have one of those trees, too, Don!!

Yeap, that is a nice lookin tree. I will have to research those. I might plant another tree this year. Not sure yet. Right now I have three maples, an ash, a Japannese maple and a lilac on a stand.

Right now I am looking at putting a Willow shrub in the back corner of the house. I try to do at least one bush / shrub a year. Eventually I will get some nice landscaping going. Slow but steady.

Moooooo while sitting below a nice shade tree on a warm summer Wisconsin afternoon.

Love those redbud trees also!! We have them in N.FL. We also have a Japanese maple and will take a pic. They have beautiful burgundy leaves in the spring and fall.

Moooooo (not sure if the spelling is right?) take a whiff of your lilac for me!!! Haven't smelled one in many a year...that was always springtime to me when you could smell the lilacs!!!

Right now we have a lilac, an Eastern Redbud, and a flowering cherry (ornamental cherry?) blooming in our yard. I just planted a Russian Olive and a weeping cherry tonight. The weeping cherry should add to the spring blooms next year and the Russian Olive makes a beautiful tree when they grow up. Google it and check out the cool bark.

Love the tree! I'm sitting here, wishing I had that to look out at... I do have a great jasmine trellis that's blooming right outside our front door. It smells heavenly.

p.s. I just tagged you on my blog. Hope you can play along... it's not like you're busy chasing some little boy around the house and keeping him entertained, or resting your weary ankles or trying to keep wee little toes out of your ribs or anything today. Oodles of extra time, right?! =0)

Ok, Miss Runningamuck...where are you hiding?? Are you in my closet? LOL!! You just described a typical day for me to a T! Especially the little toes in the ribs thing! Now add the sudden and sharp pressure/pain from her head burying itself into my cervix which makes me literally go to my knees and you've got it perfect!!

O.K., it's a redbud. I was going to say Jacaranda just to be contrary!
