Can You Rock

Korie was in a competition called Can You Rock. It went on for 10 weeks and last night was the finale. The winner from each week got to compete for 1st or 2nd place and numerous prizes. So Korie was up against 9 other very talented singers. I was kind of expecting typical Karaoke singers but these people had real talent. The first round consisted of each contestant singing one song and then the judges picked 4 finalists out of the 10.

Some tips for watching these YouTube videos: first of all, if you like, you can go to the actual video on the YouTube website and watch it in high quality, which is better than what shows here on the blog. Second, if the video isn't playing smoothly for you, press pause and let it get loaded before you watch it. Korie's song was "Don't Stop Beleivin" by Journey. And that's a live band playing the music!! It was really great.

Look how she's beaming after her performance!!! She ROCKED the house!

My friend Vickie Conrad came here and watched these videos and she says she can't imagine how ANYONE beat Korie, and she's a musician in her own right!!!

A low down on the girl that won...

A. She is already in a band so a lot of ppl already knew who she was
B. She was Aretha Franklin- only based upon her looks she is not even close to being as talented
C. She was at Can You Rock EVERY night for 11 weeks. It took her 5 weeks to win and it took me 2

So I feel like I got first place because I got to show the people I work with this other side of me and it blew them away :) Hearing my boss tell the I am "Bad A*!" and that he had never heard anyone sing like that was a win in and of itself!!

And the fact that my very pregnant sister came and supported me!!!!! How encouraging :) It was an amazing time
