eleven{ty}

I've been tagged! Kara at All in a Row{e} (she's cute, she's funny, you'll like her!) tagged me in the "11 Things" blog-tagging party that's been floating around.

Rules:
1. You must post these rules.
2. Each person must post 11 things about themselves on their blog.
3. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.
4. You have to choose 11 people to tag and link them on the post.
5. Go to their page and tell them you have linked him or her.
6. No tag backs.

11 Randoms about me:
I will probably NOT be tagging 11 people. Rule-breaker.
I chew gum constantly. Chewing gum > nasty breath.
I must brush my teeth the moment I get out of bed. And I will not speak or eat or drink until I do.
I like my bedroom to be FREEZING cold so I can snuggle while I sleep.
I loathe carpet.
I have a crush on cheeseburgers. Ones with bleu cheese and onion rings on them are my favorite.
Jason and I always say "eleventy" instead of "eleven".
I used to know all Eminem's songs by heart and would rap them (hand-motions and all) at parties.
I have ridden a bull. (Yes, for 8 seconds. Nevermind the fact it was old and tame.)
I lived in Haiti for 3 months when I was 7.
My first job was in an Ace Hardware and I'm pretty sure I learned more there than in High School.

Kara's questions:

1. What is your favorite book?  Hmmm...it's really hard to pick a favorite. I love to read. I love Frank Pereti, Stephen King, C.S. Lewis. I also loved all the Harry Potter books. The Little House on the Prairie series was my first love and I still love them. "The Hole in Our Gospel", "Crazy Love", "There Is No Me Without You", "Beyond the Masquerade", and "The Ragamuffin Gospel" all impacted my perspective to the point I am forever changed.

2. What beauty product do you use that you just can't live without? I learned when I went to Uganda that I can live without all my products because I left them all at home. That said...I do love Sheer Cover mineral powder.

3. If you could star alongside any actor in a movie, who would it be? I think Christian Bale. Or Kevin James! How about both?! :)

4. What is the best piece of blogging advice you've ever heard? I've had this little blog since 2004. Check out my first post! I started it to share our lives with family and friends we don't get to see everyday. And that's what it is still. Sometimes I feel a little bit like a loser since I've had it so long and I just have 53 followers and no one is knocking my door down to give me merchandise to feature in my posts or interview me. But then I remember that's not why I started...so I tell my dumb thoughts to shut up. :) Yes, I realize this isn't answering the question really, but I do feel insecure about it at times and wonder if I should start getting sponsors, etc. But I always decide I'm not going to. Best advice would probably be from my Mom when she told me to make sure I had a "reply to" email address on my comments and to remove the word verification.

5. Where is your favorite place to shop? TJ Maxx and Target!

6. What is your favorite wardrobe piece? Cardigans and boots and skirts (apparently I'm not capable of answering these questions with just ONE thing).

7. What is your biggest pet peeve? Loud breathing and chewing.

8. What is one of your favorite memories from your childhood? Road trips to Florida in the big silver van with The Beach Boys in the tape deck, a big bag of cherry jolly ranchers on my lap, and my brother beside me as we made up languages to speak to each other so our younger siblings couldn't understand us.

9. What is the best gift you've ever received? Some of you are going to roll your eyes at this answer, and that's ok. :) Salvation. It's the best gift we've all received...we just have to accept it. It took me 30 years of living to realize just how amazing and awesome and wonderful and incomprehensible that gift is. The only response I have is to give Jesus my life. Forever.

10. What is the best gift you've ever given? I have no idea?! I believe an awesome gift to give someone is forgiveness. Even when they don't "deserve" it. I'm still learning how to do that.

11. What is your all time favorite meal? Oh goodness gracious I have to pick ONE?! Cheeseburger & fries. Steak & eggs or fries or mashed potatoes. Homemade fresh pasta and wedge salad with bacon and bleu cheese. (I told you...Rule Breaker...I'm incapable of giving just ONE.)

Questions from little ol' me:
1. What was your first job?
2. What is your passion...what lights your fire?
3. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
4. What was your first car?
5. How do you unwind...what is your "happy place"?
6. Do you hang your toilet paper over the roll or down the wall?
7. What do you believe?
8. Where do you dream of going?
9. Do you like circus peanuts (you know, the orange foamy candies)?
10. Do you wear socks to bed?
11. How do you hope to be remembered?

Cute post! I wanted to tell you that you are welcome to use Madelyn (or any of my kiddos) for your baby posts. She was born 6 weeks early and my very first blog post is about her. :)

I LOVED this post - - - you are one funny girl, I wonder WHERE you got THAT from what with BOTH of your parents being so humorless and straight laced and all.

Your parents couldn't understand your vacation language either.

Once your dad was chewing BANANAS so loud in bed I thought I'd need earplugs - - - BANANAS!!! How did he do that?

I LOVE that you gave me the moon!!

Loved reading your answers! I have the same pet peeves! Wanna know something really annoying? My hubby's jaw pops EVERY TIME he chews something. I usually have to turn on the tv or music to help drown out the noise. HAHA!

Also, you should never feel like a loser because of the number of followers you have. What's important is that your blog is great and the message you put out is even greater! :)

That moon is sooo pretty. I love the trees in front of it. I have The Hole in Our Gospel sitting in my pile of must reads. Maybe I'll read it next. I cannot stand loud breathers either. Makes me crazy! Thanks for the tag. I will get working on it later tonight probably. :)

I am a serious gum chewer. Can that be an addiction? Because I think I might be addicted to it. But seriously... whyyyy does it cause gross breath?
We LOVE our bedroom to be freezing cold too!
