{40 days for life} day 37 ~ Landon Matthew

Today is Day 37 of the 40 Days for Life campaign. 555 babies have been saved!  Click here to see what these posts are all about.

Landon's Mom, my friend Elizabeth, says: "Landon Matthew Bertsch born July 25, 2003. Landon, my first born warrior son! Landon was wanted, prayed and prepared for. But, I had no idea what to do with a baby let alone a sick weak 5 pound bundle of fuss! Yet, God's Grace was sufficient for me! Landon had lung problems as well as physical problems, at 6 months old we almost lost him in an ambulance being transferred from one hospital to another one with a specialized PICU. Those first 2 years Landon would see 37 doctors at 7 different hospitals. But, by the age of 3 he was better and life was good.

Until Landon was 4, and our world came crashing in again. After Landon broke his leg it was discovered he had a very large tumor in the bone of his leg. Praise the Lord his tumor was not cancer and it did not threaten his Earthly life but, it did threaten everything about his normal little boy life. He would have 2 unsuccessful surgeries and another broken leg. Finally, 7 months later he would have a "last chance" surgery to save his leg. The surgery was an invasive and painful bone transplant. After many months in a wheelchair Landon had to learn to walk again. His surgery was successful but, left his leg and hip very scarred. About a year later Landon asked me if he would have his scars in Heaven. I thought about it and told him I didn't think so. But, he says "I pray that I will always have my scars, they are so important to me..they remind me of how God healed me!"

Life is precious.. sick, healthy, weak, strong, embrace it, scars and all!"

I am pleading that you pray with me for the Lord to end abortion.  He loves the babies.  He loves the mothers.  He loves the fathers.  He loves the doctors.  He loves those who have already made the choice and are now living each day with the after-effects of that decision.  He's waiting with open arms...run to Him!

Proverbs 31:8 "Speak up for those who have no voice, for the justice of all who are dispossessed."
